NSS girl’s cross-country five win gold for second year

The five-girl team from Northern Secondary School has won the girls cross country race in the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations competition in Port Hope. It is the second year in a row this team has won gold in the OFSSA event. Speedy Grade Tenners Eve Boyer, Parker Hopkins, Alex Weir, Ireland Robertson and Zoe Lexovsky are talking about taking this prize every year until they graduate. That would be quite a record. They report that this year’s race was run in bright and fairly warm weather on the campus of Trinity College. In 2015, the girls snatched victory from a wet and muddy course on farmland in the hamlet of Duntroon on the route to Collingwood. Alexandra Weir distinguished herself by finishing second in a field of 269 junior girls in the 4.2 kilometre race. Well done ladies. We’ll look for you next year at the OFSSA cross country
