Toronto Police cold case officers are going to pursue Melvin Douglas Howe to his grave, or at least find out where he’s buried. The notorious case remains a cautionary tale for law enforcement, the courts, federal prison officers and parents. Howe was 43 when he got out of prison in Saskatchewan for multiple sexual offenses against girls. He made his way to Toronto and on Sunday January 23, 1983, he prowled into Jean Sibelius Park on Kendel Ave. south of Dupont Street and lured Sharin Keenan Morningstar back to his rented room. He assaulted her and then strangled the child. Her body was found stuffed in his refrigerator. Video.
