Toronto man had ISIS ambitions, other local police matters

The RCMP have charged Toronto man, Pamir Hakimzadah, 27, with trying to leave the country and join ISIS. This part of a national criminal investigation, Project Sachet, which began in January 2016. Mounties allege Hakimzadah travelled to Turkey in the fall of 2014 with the intention of joining ISIS and participating in terrorist activity. He was returned to Canada after being detained by Turkish authorities.

OTHER OCCURRENCES

Toronto police are trying to identify the hooded man who is robbing corners in central west downtown. He has struck at two convenience stores and a Subway sandwich shop in recent weeks. He carries a black hand gun during these robberies. Finally, the man posing and ready to strike is wanted for assaulting a 40-year-old man during an argument on Liberty Street.
