Turkey votes narrowly in favour of more power for Erdogan

The Turkish referendum on extending broad new powers to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has produced evidence a divided nation. But, with much of the vote in, it appears the new constitution will be approved. According to results carried Sunday by the state-run Anadolu news agency, the “yes” vote had about 51.3 per cent compared to 48.7 per cent for the “no” vote with nearly 99 per cent of the vote counted.
