Area summary of events occurring Friday and Saturday

An overnight fire on Prust Ave. in Leslieville has sent a  woman to hospital. She was found on the stairs of the residence at about 2 a.m. Her condition is possibly life threatening. The home is near Gerrard Street and Greenwood Avenue. The flames were extinguished in about 25 minutes.

Police made two arrests overnight Saturday laying many charges following a raid authorized under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. This occurred near Yonge St. and Sheppard Ave where detectives found 36 grams of cocaine, 150 grams of marijuana, 134 Alprazolam pills and a fully loaded semi-automatic .45 calibre handgun in the vehicle  Christopher Reyes, 22, of Toronto faces 13 charges related to trafficking, proceeds of crimes and firearms. Kevin Leung, 23, of Toronto is charged with seven charges related to a firearm.

Rain did damage to the ravine roadway of Glenwood Crescent off O’Connor Drive near Taylor Park ravine Friday. A  large chunk of the road has fallen away in the Parkview Hills neighbourhood. Also in the aftermath of the rain, Mayor Tory was reviewing high water at Woodbine Beach Saturday.
