A ride known as the Fire Ball broke up as it whirled above the Ohio State Fair Wednesday night loaded with young fun seekers. It was opening day. For reasons unknown, one carriage on the ride’s big wheel broke off and slammed to the ground. The break in the ring also flung riders from other carriages out as well. A boy of 18 is dead and seven others are injured, three critically.
