Justice Micheal Code of the Ontario Superior Court has decided to delay the sentencing of Dellen Millard and Mark Smich for the murder of Laura Babcock.. He says he wants to think about it for perhaps two weeks. Tim Bosma’s widow, Sharlene, was present with members of her family for Monday’s hearing. The Crown was asking for life with no parole for 50 years. The argument is that the first degree murder of Bosma and Babcock are tied together through the use of the Eliminator, used to incinerate both victims.
FAMILY LEARNED TO HATE”
Canadian Press reports that the family of Laura Babcock told the hearing that they learned to hate in the wake of what happened to the girl. Linda and Brent Babcock, the mother and brother of the young woman, expressed their hatred and heartbreak in a victim impact statement read out by a prosecutor at a sentencing hearing for Dellen Millard and Mark Smich.
