Woman, 89, hit in low-speed accident at Soudan and Holly

Police are looking for witnesses or video that will help them explain a low-speed accident at the corner of Soudan Ave and Holly St. Friday in which a woman, 89, was badly injured. It is the kind of traffic incident that seems little understood. They say a man drove southbound on Holly to Soudan, a three-way stop intersection. He stopped but then somehow stuck the woman who was crossing Holly from east to west right in front of him. It was 9:49 a.m., full daylight. The driver was a man, 57. He apparently remained at the scene. Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
