She died Tuesday morning at her home in Arizona from complications of a urinary tract infection, according to an announcement posted Friday on Grumpy’s Instagram page. The behind-the-scenes story of Grumpy was that she was an affectionate pet who could not fairly be called grumpy in real life. “Besides being our baby and a cherished member of the family, Grumpy Cat has helped millions of people smile all around the world – even when times were tough,” Grumpy Cat’s owners wrote. “Her spirit will continue to live on through her fans everywhere.”
