Repairs to an underground cable vault that caught fire recently is causing the power to be shut off to 40 buildings in the Yonge Street and Eglinton Avenue area. The power outage was originally expected to last until 1 p.m, but it is expected to last longer. The buildings affected by the outage are bordered by Duplex Avenue to the west, Bayview Avenue to the east, Broadway Avenue to the north and Soudan Avenue to the south.
