Out of 2,073 valid votes, Pupatello won 817. She needed 1,037 votes to win the party’s leadership. Although commentators asked rhetorically whether Pupatello would throw her support behind Wynne before a third ballot, the voting has begun and Pupatello is still seeking support in that balloting.
