Super Bowl resumes after 35 minute blackout

The most watched TV program in quite probably the whole world was put on hold tonight as a “power surge” blew out many of the lights at the New Orleans Super Bowl.  The Baltimore Ravens were smashing the San Francisco 49ers, 28-6  early in the third quarter when — whoops — out went large numbers of lights and the scoreboard. At 8.54 p.m. the play-by-play crew announced they had been told it might be 15 minutes before the full playing lights return. The teams were asked to stay on the field and many. like the player above, began to stretch to stay warmed up.  San  Francisco fans were tending to think that the blackout was a break for them.
