Liberals blanked by PCs, NDP in two byelections

Results have led to the declaration of the PCs as winners in the riding of Thornhill and the NDP as victors in the riding of Niagara Falls. The governing Liberals have been blanked out. To be fair, they were not seen as certain winners in either race but had hoped to take Thornhil which had been Liberal. Both ridings were vacant. The outcome may have an impact on the calling of a General Election this Spring sooner rather than later.
