Rahier at 1586 Bayview Ave. will be participating with many other patisseries around town in Macaron Day this Friday, March 20, 2015. The annual charitable giveaway is in aid of the Red Door Shelter in Leslieville. Macarons are a butter-cream or ganache filled meringue cookie. Typically, participating bakeries donate a macaron in exchange for the sale of others. Twenty-five per cent of the proceeds from all additional macarons purchased on this day is donated to the Red Door. Nice idea.
