Chef David Marcus of David’s Condiments

A healthy alternative to other rubs, seasoning and marinades is this line of products made by Chef David at David’s Condiments in Toronto. The large and various line is a staple at Andy Elder’s Grilltime and he has decided to use it on his packaged marinated meat. David Marcus was handing out some delicious grilled chicken Saturday outside Grilltime. He comes to his interest in salt, chemical and gluten-free  recipes out of life changing events. His dad died following open heart surgery in 2006 and then his father-in-law was prescribed a strict low-sodium diet. David had to re-invent all his recipes. He turned to reading nutritional labels and realized there were very few gourmet ‘Low Sodium’ seasonings anywhere. This was the beginning of his re-invented recipes. It began with visitors to the cottage who declared David’s new steak rub to huge hit,. His wife made labels and they started sending the rub home with friends all over the world. The rest is a history of considerable success with dozens of savoury rubs available at specialty  food markets like Grilltime.
