The timing of the release of pictures of Prince George with his sister Princess Charlotte may have much to do with the deadlines of the United Kingdom morning papers. By early evening London time, Kensington Palace was still talking about a release “later today.” A release at 11 p.m BST (4 p.m. EDT) would provide the papers with an enormous circulation builder. It would also splash the pictures all over morning television in North America. The informal pictures will be the first to feature the two royal children together, and the first of Princess Charlotte since May 2, the day she was born.
