UNDO SEND: Google devises recall for wrongly sent Gmail

Beginning immediately, Google has installed a recall mechanism in Gmail which permits clumsy users to bring back embarrassing messages sent in error. It seems historic somehow. Installation is easy. It has already been installed this very evening at the The South Bayview Bulldog. Hooray! To install Undo Send follow these instructions. :

  • On the Gmail website, click the gear icon in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  • On the General Tab, you should now see Undo Send listed as the tenth option.
  • To enable it, check the box next to Enable Undo Send.
  • Now choose the length of time you’d like to have the ability to recall your sent emails from the drop-down menu. Options include 5, 10, 20 and 30 seconds.

The feature is simple. Users will see the Undo link in the same message that says the mail has been sent as seen below. Click it in time, and the mail is unsent.
