Excitement is a wonderful thing. The CBC, Washington Post, ESPN, AP and others declared flatly Sunday morning that the head of the Canadian Olympic Committee was saying there would be a Toronto bid for the 2024 Olympics. That story has now been downgraded to the less than startling news that the COC will support an Olympic bid if there is one. Olympic bid? Say a prayer for common sense and Toronto.
