Does David Price know how to make an entrance or what?

AP writer Ian Harrison caught the spirit of a wonderful baseball day for Toronto fans. Harrison observed that David Price was blown away by the reception he got in his Civic Holiday sold-out debut at Rogers Stadium. Then, said the AP scribe, Price blew away the Minnesota Twins. Blue Jay’s brass were more than ready to agree. The team tweeted the above photo with the new man’s statistics for the day stamped right on it. How impressive is that scorecard fans?  Price struck out 11 over eight innings to win his first Blue Jays start, Josh Donaldson hit a tie-breaking home run and Toronto beat Minnesota 5-1 in the opener of a four-game series between AL wild-card contenders. And this as Price has hardly time to unpack. He got here Friday from Detroit. The crowd basked in fine weather as they stood to give him a ringing welcome. The turnstiles said 45,766 had bought a ticket.  For his part, Price was gracious and, it seemed, genuinely impressed. “That was the best atmosphere I’ve ever been in,” he said. “I’ve never experienced anything like that.”
