Police have released a description of the accident between a Beck Taxi and a motorcyclist at Danforth and St. Dunstan Drive on Saturday, September 26, 2015. The taxi was being driven east on Danforth and made a left turn onto northbound St. Dunstan. The motorcyclist, 32, was travelling west on a 2007 Honda bike. He slammed into the passenger side of the cab. Police continue to investigate the unknown driving lapse that led to this collision. It was a grinding encounter which severely injured the motorcyclist. A reader of the South Bayview Bulldog came upon the scene. She says: “I found his hand on the road. I had someone run to the beer store to grab ice to try and save it. I bagged it and gave it to the paramedics.” It was a harrowing time for this Good Samaritan and others. There is no word on whether the hand could be reattached. The police report released Tuesday, September 29, 2015, said the motorcyclist remains in critical condition.
