A man still at large has been identified from different  bank security pictures as the robber of at least four banks, He has shown a gun in one such holdup at the TD Bank at Avenue Road and Lawrence Ave. Friday evening. He seems to prefer hitting his targets around supper time. In a previous post, he is seen wearing a toque. But police say that in more than one robbery he has worn a wicked looking wig to disguise himself. The picture shows he was not successful. He just looks silly. But the robberies are no laughing matter as holdup detectives are taking the robberies personally. One of the stick-ups was in Oshawa, with three within this month in Toronto. Staff inspector Mike Earl is quoted as saying: “He is sadly mistaken if he thinks he is going to a holiday camp for weekends or something after committing these serious robberies. This individual is looking at some serious penitentiary time and he has the full attention of the Hold Up Squad.” Earl said the suspect is “obviously trying to throw” police off but has not done a very good job of it. “I believe we are going to catch this guy,” he said. “He may not know have seen himself on the news yet but there are going to be people out there that recognize this individual,” Earl said. The suspect is described as white, in his 40s, five-foot-seven to five-foot-nine with a thin build and prescription glasses.
