  1. My guess…and it’s only a guess…as to why the delay involves the acquisition of Shoppers Drug Mart by Loblaw. SDM is increasingly becoming a purveyor of groceries. Possibly Whole Foods objected to SDM being allowed in the space or SDM tried to stop Whole Foods. Leases in places like these typically carry a no competition clause or two.
