Here we are on Moore Ave at Brendan Road where Clean Water Works of Ottawa is installing sewer life-extending cured-in-place-pipe lining (CIPP). Steam is used to cure a resin-saturated felt tube or robust sleeve composed of polyester that is pulled into aging and damaged sewer pipes. CIPP lining tube is inserted into the damaged pipe with either air pressure or water pressure. Hot water or steam is used to cure the resin which then forms a solid, impregnable mass that lines the interior dimensions of a sewer pipe. That’s the part you are looking at in the video above.
