Willing volunteers fulfilled the goal of Sarah and Claire’s Food Drive Saturday at the South Bayview Valu mart at 1500 Bayview Ave. People both notable and those just happy to be helping out built 160 hampers (including a valued frozen turkey) for needy families served at Thanksgiving by the Daily Bread Food Bank. Councillor Jon Burnside, Gail Nyberg, head of Daily Bread, local philanthropist Realtor Patrick Rocca, Valu mart manager Mike Tufts and many others pitched in. In the centre, a small family made up of mom and dad Lynda Debono and Mark Jordan with their daughters Sarah and Claire, after whom this community food drive is named.
