Warm temperatures are lulling people into a shirtsleeves mood at what is normally a warm-sweater time of year. It is an October Surprise and it cannot last. It was 24 Centigrade in Midtown at 1 p.m. and some forecasts were suggesting a record-breaking 27 might be possible. The Weather Network predicted a possible high in that range but we shall see. That would be double the high of 13 expected this time of year. The WN predicts 19 for Wednesday.
