Anthony Spinley, the new owner of what was Wiseys Pies and Bakehouse has rebranded the business under the name North Shore Pie Co. The name change comes as Spinley and his wife Jen take the New Zealand sweet and savoury pie and baked goods firm in the direction of a business-to-business wholesaler. They will be located after the end of the year in Etobicoke. The present Wiseys (now North Shore) location at 874 Eglinton Ave. E. at Laird Drive will close at the end of December. To those asking why the change, Spinley wrote on Facebook that the “rebranding is because of new ownership and we feel as well with the new name the connection with New Zealand is more clear. Fear not however, our products are the same, if not slightly better. I’ll let you be the judge.” As the new logo suggests, “north shore” refers to the area north of Auckland.
