There is also a new parking app called Rover Parking, roverparking.com, that allows you to park in people’s driveways when they are not being uses, it’s like the AirBnB of parking.
Also a great idea. 🙂
The key to any of those services is getting to a critical mass of users supplying driveways. Hopefully that happens!
This is incredibly welcome news, just in time for the cold weather to start.
If you park in the same area regularly, you can memorize the code and run directly from your car into the warmth of wherever you are headed, then pay for parking. If it’s somewhere new, well, you just see the code on the machine, then run inside and pay. No more standing in the cold waiting for the machines to print out your ticket!
Additionally, it’s great to see that the app will warn you when you get close to your time limit, and allow you to extend, without needing to run back to your car.
This can’t get to the rest of the city quickly enough!
