Trump tax threat makes Ford blink, GM faces same thing

Ford Motor Company will reverse its plan to invest $1.6 billion in Mexico and instead spend the money in the U.S. Ford will however proceed with plans to build the new Ford Focus at an existing plant in Hermosillo, Mexico. The decision comes after president elect Trump threatened to apply a 35 per cent tax on Ford cars from Mexico. He has now apparently made the same threat to General Motors. Ford’s turnaround means that a slew of new electric models to be built in the next five years including a Mustang Hybrid will be built in U.S. plants
