Bail denied for man with cash from places unknown
A Hamilton judge has denied bail to Karim Baratov, 22, the man accused by the US government of being an Internet hired-gun for Russian intelligence and the mastermind of the huge theft of Yahoo data three years ago. Judge Alan Whitten was particularly troubled by the lack of interest and absence of probing questions by Baratov’s parents about their son’s mysterious cash flow. He doubted their ability to keep Baratov from fleeing the country.
