Friday night’s sudden thunderstorm and sharp increase in wind are suspected in the collapse of a light standard Friday that trapped two men at Woodbine Park during the Beaches Rib Fest. Firefighters removed the light standard and debris to free the men. One was conscious and breathing and the other was slipping in and out of consciousness police said.

A multiple-car accident at Woodbine Ave and O’Connor Drive snarled traffic Friday night causing a detour south on Woodbine and west on Plains Road., There were no serious injuries.
