A massive rear-end collision on the QEW at Cawthra Rd. has injured at least seven people, one of them, a 12-year-old boy was airlifted to the Hospital for Sick Children in serious condition. The scene of the series of collisions left the highway looking like a junk yard. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said the crash happened before 11 a.m. Thursday when as a driver was unable to stop for slowing traffic. That vehicle spun out around hitting a transport truck. The truck driver lost control and hit two other vehicles. The highway has since re-opened.
