Winnipeg woman loses $1 million on CFL penalty call

Karen Kuldys of Winnipeg says she is just sick about the officiating at tonight’s Winnipeg-Toronto game after an interference call invalidated an Argo touchdown returned from the kickoff. It would have been the second such return in the game and that is all the rules of the Safeway grocery game required for Kuldys to get the million. But no. Fans are furious. Bomber Ryan Lankford took the opening kickoff 105 yards for a score and Argonaut Martese Jackson followed that up with another one late in the second quarter. But just as Jackson crossed the goal line after 109 yards, out came a penalty flag. The game was played in Winnipeg and ended Bombers 33, Argos 25.
