The TTC is full of apologies Thursday for the colossal slowdown of service and crowds waiting for trains. Thousands more just gave up and walked to work. The explanation offered is that somehow overnight work to replace the 1950s signal system went off the tracks causing the signal system to give false messages to trains. Human error.
