Toronto Fire Service rang a second alarm when they found a unit fully engulfed in flames on arrival at an apartment on Broadway Ave between Yonge St.and Redpath Ave. The TCC was called to provide shelter buses for residents who were evacuated into the bitterly cold night. Most have now been able to return to their homes. “We had a good working fire on the seventh floor, with heavy smoke on the seventh and we had to call a second alarm to get additional crews because there are additional buildings attached to this one,” District Chief Michael Ancio told CP24 at the scene. A woman was treated for anxiety but there were no injuries related to the heat or smoke.
PAPE AVENUE
Police are searching for the motorist who just lost it overnight, slamming a car into a home on Pape Ave. south of Danforth about 1.45 a.m. There are no known injuries.
WANTED PERSONS
Police are seeking these two persons in unrelated matters. They are Tina Robertson, 43 wanted in 33 Division for failure to comply with a recognizance and Anthony Nguyen, 25, wanted in 14 Division for harassment and failure to comply with probation.
