Notley warns “whatever is necessary” to get pipeline to sea

“YOU CAN MESS WITH TEXAS BUT YOU CAN’T MESS WITH ALBERTA”

A decision by Kinder Morgan to apparently mollify the anti-pipeline government of British Columba has brought a fierce response from Alberta Premier Rachel Notley. KM said today that it will scale back “non-essential activities” on the project. Notley responded by demanding that the federal government take “concrete action” to stop her NDP brothers in BC from stonewalling the project. “You can mess with Texas but you can’t mess with Alberta,” Notley warned. She said that her government is prepared, if necessary, to buy into the pipeline project. If that is necessary she said BC will be dealing with a “significantly more determined” player in Kinder Morgan than it has seen so far. Her tone was icy and not unlike a parent reprimanding a child as she said that her province is determined to do “whatever is necessary” to see the pipeline completed.
