Wiles-Bell celebrated at LUC as Bayview summer unfolds

Her many friends in Leaside and at Leaside United Church are preparing to celebrate the years of good work by Tanya Wiles-Bell as she prepares to retire as LUC’s Christian Education Director. You may wish to be there on June 13. Upper right is a reminder of Saturday’s rummage sale at Manor Road United Church. Always fun. Below that a suspicious but somehow loveable fellow ready to growl about the Lawn Summer Nights hi-jinks at Leaside Lawn Bowling Club in July. It is an important event raising funds for cystic fibrosis research and offering hilarious posturing by young professional people in outlandish dress. We like it. Centre right is some yummy looking Lemon Cake available at Today’s Menu on Millwood Rd. Centre left, these shining faces belong to the Leaside High School soccer champs in the TDSSAA Senior Girls AA Division. Well done ladies. At the bottom, events from our friends in East York. Young skateboard fans will want to hit the East York Arena on Sunday for the Summer Kickoff. Canadian Legion Todmorden Branch 10 is running a fundraiser June 10 and bottom left is a preview of the September 22 MGH mental illness “Kick the Stigma” fundraiser, of which more later.
