City Auditor alleges incompetence, negligence at City Hall

This is a hair-raising report done by City News on the results of an investigation by Toronto Auditor General Beverly Romeo-Beehler. It was triggered by a whistle-blower who complained a year ago that long-time privately owned suppliers of fire inspection services to the City ran them in an irregular manner, to say the least. The owner, a man named Rauf Ahmad, appears elusive. In fact, Romeo-Beehler has compiled a kitchen sink of complaints about Ahmad’s work. It all seems to have been an enormous yawn to City employees who were paying the bills. Must view.
