A home in Mississauga was levelled by fire early Tuesday at Watersedge Road near Lakeshore Road West and Southdown Road around 4:15 a.m. It was under construction. It’s estimated that more than $500,000 in damage was done. Officials said the home was being rebuilt after a previous fire some two years ago.
OPP OFFICER RUN DOWN BY HIT AND RUN SPORTS CAR
An OPP officer was run down by a sports car which he had stopped on Highway 400 near Finch Avenue early Tuesday. City News says the officer was conducting a traffic stop when the incident happened. As the officer walked up to the car, the driver hit the gas and the vehicle sped off dragging the policeman a short distance. He is recovering in hospital.
