A large charity in the UK devoted to improving health generally has concluded research which seems to suggest that the normal consumpton of coffee may be related to a longer lifespan. The organization Biobank is a major national and international health resource and a registered charity. It’s findings are sumarized in JAMA, the Journal of the American Medical Association. The Biobank conclusion states: “Coffee drinking was inversely associated with mortality, including among those drinking 8 or more cups per day and those with genetic polymorphisms indicating slower or faster caffeine metabolism. These findings suggest the importance of noncaffeine constituents in the coffee-mortality association and provide further reassurance that coffee drinking can be a part of a healthy diet.” JAMA
