Waiting to fall
The weekend saw a new sign on the Valumart at 1500 Bayview. Mike Tufts (left) congenial franchisee for more than 18 months, has moved to the Valumart at Bayview and Cummer Aves. A new boss at the local store will be appointed in due course. Until then it is signed “Bayview’s” Valumart. Valumart, as many will know, is a subsidiary of the Loblaw company, National Grocers. Centre is a parade of giant traffic cones that occupied the west side of Bayview from Merton St. down to nearly Moore Ave. on Saturday. This is not a good omen. At right, another bad sign and residents should be careful not to stand under it. These wonky fixtures are all over town. It seems the Works Department needs a new plan. The Councillor is alerted.
