Upper left, a new A&W restaurant will open in a recently built storefront at the East York Town Centre. The Mama, Papa, Teen and maybe In-law Burger place will go next to Once Upon A Child. It’s easily seen from Overlea Blvd. The space appears to be as big as 4,000 sq feet. It is no doubt the kind of bonus that EYTC owners Morguard Property were hoping to get from the new Costco across the street. Upper right are Leaside Volleyball ladies Giulia and Tatum bringing home U14 gold from the London Ontario Summer Games. Nice going Giulia and Tatum. Middle right is a picture tweeted by Mary Fragedakis of the new bike sharing station on Gamble Ave. This new cycle rental gambit by Toronto seems to have some takers. Lower right, the enterprising members of the Leaside Lawn Bowling Club are working hard to keep the place from growing old. It’s working too.
