Township of Scarborough lives as kids climb on 45 fire truck

The crowd-pleasing vehicles at the ninth annual Wheels on the Danforth included a 1945 Township of Scarborough fire truck as seen at upper left. The kids loved it. At the right from the top are a 1937 Plymouth and 1966 Fargo (Dodge) Travel All Van. The Fargo was bought by George Heighington of Scarborough in 1989 for $325. He got it from the federal department of agriculture after they were finished with it in the fields of the Niagara Peninsula. Centre left, a wonderful 1956 Chevrolet convertible. At the right, an equally breathtaking 1956 Thunderbird. Below that a prank vehicle with a cock-eyed truck bed just for laughs. At bottom, a modest but charming 1965 Ford Falcon known as Dirty Bird.
