Bloody Red October continues to savage Toronto, US stocks

Stocks are collapsing in the US and Canada again Friday in a costly slaughter of investments not seen in as much as five years. Shortly after 11 a.m. Toronto was down 180 points and the Dow in New York was down a stunning 497 points. A quick and easy reason for this is offered in the “disappointing” earnings of Amazon and others announced Friday. But the selling seems a lot like sheer panic to others. Towards noon, there were some signs of buying in a market which must be making certain stocks quite attractive.
