Guys Night Out evening will deliver a toy to 4,500 children

The 15th Annual Leaside Guys Night Out was a happy, crowded and successful fundraiser once again Thursday. As we know, the December outpouring of selfless goodwill and generosity is intended to raise money to buy a gift for every single one of some 4,500 school kids in Thorncliffe and Flemingdon Park. And it looks like it was mission-accomplished once again, according to those present. But now the hard work begins. The counting of proceeds (donations are still welcome) and the work of buying and delivering these toys starts today. Guys Night Out is an event jammed with auctions, raffles, contests and games. It is organized by Leaside Pub principal Jeff Hohner and Daryn Everett, Micheal Zivot, Ed Wong, Lisa Lefebvre and David Skelly. One much sought-after auction prize is a steak and cigars dinner for eight offered by Andy Elder (Grilltime) and Trae Zammit (Smokin’ Cigar). This year it was taken by Don Bates.  The shots above show Guys Night loyalists and auction action underway. Below is the back end of this event as seen in 2017. Jeff Hohner, Mike Zivot and Daryn Everett get busy delivering the toys.
