Socks 4 Souls girls shine through on a balmy Bayview Friday

Say hello to 15 rays of sunshine (upper left) who between them gathered 135 pairs of socks to give to those who have none. These shining faces belong to Leaside Wildcats, overseen by a very proud Kerry Collier, peewee and bantam convener of the Toronto Leaside Girls Hockey Association. The program is called Socks 4 Souls and is aimed at helping Toronto’s homeless. More than 20 percent of health care problems among the homeless is related to their feet. Upper right, many went coatless on South Bayview Ave this balmy 10-degree-Celsius Friday. Below that, a reminder of the sweetly named Leaside United Church Youth LUCY Pizza Party. Across the bottom posters for the annual free skate sponsored by Patrick Rocca, the charitable Leaside Ladies Night set for January 24 and at lower right, the 29th Annual Leaside Select Invitational Tournament. What fun.  South Bayview Bulldog Bulletin Board
