Cops, Flemingdon locals mark decade of ProAction Hockey

Hot dogs, toys like rubik cube games and frisbee discs helped police and citizens mark a decade of ProAction Hockey in Flemingdon Park Sunday. Angela James Arena on Grenoble Dr. was full of community friends, locals, moms and dads helping to tie skates and notable friends of the program. Jon Burnside, who spearheaded the program ten years ago, was seen chatting with two other ProAction originals, George Mullin and Dave Croutch. Among others present were MPP Kathleen Wynne, Deputy Police Chief Peter Yuen and women’s hockey legend Angela James. Many high-ranking officers and rank and file mixed with the crowd. Three PCs got to stand outside to cook the popular hotdogs.
