Mobster’s son found dead in doorway of Mt. Hamilton home

Cece Luppino, the son of Hamilton mobster Rocco Luppino, was found gunned down in the doorway of his Mountain Brow home, sparking a police investigation into his homicide and whether it was motivated by traditional organized crime. Cece bore the notorious last name of his Hamilton mafia family, but the 43-year-old newlywed did not have a criminal record and was not known to police — before a 911 call to his 56 Mountain Brow Blvd. home at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. That home and another next door — 52 Mountain Brow Blvd. — are owned by his parents, Rocco and Helen Luppino, property records show. A family member made the 911 call after coming home to find Cece shot in the home’s doorway, said Det. Sgt. Peter Thom, of the major crime unit. But by the time emergency services arrived minutes later he was “obviously deceased.” — St Catharines Standard
