Keven Menager of the Mt. Pleasant BIA warns merchants locally about a scam call to a member of the BIA. This one had a new twist on the fraud to get a credit card number given verbally over the phone:
Got a call saying they were from TD visa Centre, gave an “employee number” and said that the last Visa sale we had manually entered had been erased at their end because someone on our end had “hit the enter key too quickly” and that they needed me to give them the card details over the phone for them to “make sure the funds got deposited to my account.”
