Durham Police say a woman, 39, simply made a mistake — a big one — when she drove an ATV off a steep cliff at Clarington Saturday and landed on the shore of Lake Ontario. Rescuers rappelled down to the cliff to rescue the woman, who luckily fell clear of the ATV. The four-wheel machine landed about 25 feet into the lake and sank. DRPS says alcohol was not an issue.
