Elana Kampouris, 21, a celebrated US actress, visited Loblaws on Moore Ave. Sunday with her dad, Alexander, and demonstrated her fluency in Mandarin by singing a Chinese folk song with two employees selling mushrooms. Ms. Kampouris is in Toronto until November shooting scenes for a Nexflix series called Zeus. It is scheduled for the 2020-21 season. She explained that she learned the difficult language beginning about two years ago by chatting with Chinese grocer friends near her home. Her accomplishment seems quite breathtaking.
